Wes Winter, Executive Director of the Family Justice Center Sonoma County (“FJCSC”) announced that the Office on Violence Against Women has approved the funding of $300,000 to the County of Sonoma to benefit the FJCSC.

The Grant will aid in the strengthening of effective responses to violence against women. The award is made under the “Grants to Encourage Arrest Policies and Enforcement of Protection Orders Program,” overseen by the Attorney General through the Department of Justice, and encourages communities to treat sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking as serious crimes.

The Family Justice Center Sonoma County is a “one-stop” port of entry for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse and child abuse.  Working with its many partners, this grant will provide the FJCSC with the financial support to better assist these survivors.
