A Rohnert Park man was arrested by Petaluma Police Saturday, July 13, for suspected felony vandalism, resisting arrest and committing a felony while out on bail.

Joseph Jensen, 18, was taken into custody for posting graffiti on a newly installed bus stop enclosure at 900 E. Washington St., near the new East Washington Place shopping center at around 1:40 a.m. Police estimate the damage to the bus enclosure to be in excess of $1,000 which prompted the felony charge.

An officer watched as Jensen allegedly marked up the bus stop with a large permanent marker. When the officer approached Jensen, he fled on foot. According to a Petaluma Police report, Jensen was caught a short distance away near an apartment complex after falling to the pavement.

Jensen was out on bail for a prior case involving an assault with a deadly weapon in Sonoma County at the time of his arrest. Jensen was transported and booked into Sonoma County Jail.
