|CSW seeking nominations for Women’s History Month Awards
The County of Sonoma Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) seeks help from the public in selecting three recipients of the Women’s History Month Awards for 2013.
The award is given to women who have made a positive difference in women’s quality of life in Sonoma County, and the commission will select three winners from the public’s nominations. To nominate a candidate, send a letter to firstname.lastname@example.org, describing why a particular woman should be considered for the award. Include the candidate’s contact information, as well.
The deadline for nominations is March 1.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, the awards will be presented at the CSW luncheon and fundraiser on March 24. This year’s theme is “Women Inspiring Innovation through Imagination: Celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.” However, nominations are taken from all areas of interest to women. The luncheon will be held on March 24 from 11:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at Sally Tomatoes Restaurant in the Sonoma Mountain Village, 1100 Valley House Dr., Rohnert Park. For more information, contact CSW at email@example.com or via telephone at 565-2693.
CSW is a public advisory body comprised of 15 members appointed by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors. The purpose of the commission is to promote equal rights and opportunities that enhance the quality of life for all women and girls and to address issues of discrimination and prejudice that negatively affect women in Sonoma County.
