| SRJC accepting applications for CSA program |
Santa Rosa Junior College’s Shone Farm, the 365-acre west county student farm just off River Road outside Forestville, is now accepting members for its fall season CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) produce box program. Signup deadline is Monday, Aug. 20.
Each week the CSA box will contain six to eight different vegetables and fruits grown and harvested by SRJC students the morning of delivery – enough for a family of two to three adults.
The produce is grown using sustainable principles, so no pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides.
Just good, wholesome, delicious food like it’s grown in the garden. Members also receive a loaf of fresh, local bread at no additional cost, and can opt to add on pastured eggs if they choose.
The cost for the Fall CSA is $384 for 16 weeks – $24 a week for vegetables, fruit, and a loaf of delicious bread.
A member’s share can be picked up at the SRJC Santa Rosa or Petaluma campuses, The Wineyard at 1305 Cleveland Avenue, or at Shone Farm outside Forestville. Directions and location will be sent after signup is complete.
For a signup form, go to visit www.shonefarm.com, or contact shonefarm@santarosa.edu, or call 887-2458 for more information.
