The Rohnert Park Farmers Market ("Party on the Plaza!") kicks off its summer run tonight, June 15, from 5-8 p.m. at the City Center adjacent to the library.

Once again, the parking lot will be filled with farmers, food producers and crafters from the area.

A new addition this year will be a petting zoo and pony rides provided by "Farm Tale Animal Rescue," who rescues barn animals that would otherwise be put to sleep.

On the plaza, there will once again be jump houses, climbing walls and train rides for the kids, and Budderball the Clown (face-painting) and Balloonatrix (glitter tattoos and balloon animals) will be back as well.

Beer/wine once again provided by the Education Foundation and Rotary Club of Ranch Cotati, with proceeds going to benefit local schools.

Local band The Rotten Tomatoes, which plays classic rock and blues, will kick off the live music series Friday.

For a playlist for the season, contact  entertainment coordinator, Cathy Slack at 543-0127.

The first 50 EBT users, (CalFresh) will receive an extra $10 in tokens because of a $500 donation by Kaiser Permanente. Authorized farmers will also be accepting WIC and Senior Checks this year.
